About this Project
Do you want to spend your Christmas break sharing the love of God with the fatherless? Highlands has partnered with Rancho de Louisiana Orphanage for several years, and each year we take a team to spend Christmas with the 200 children who live there. In a culture where Christmas has become commercialized and focused on materialism, this trip will be refreshing as you remember the true meaning of the season.
What are the accomodations? Your team will stay in a guest house at the orphanage.
What will we eat? Your team will eat traditional Mexican dishes including tortillas, rice, beans, and fresh fruit. You will also eat sandwiches with your team.
What should I wear? It is very important that all visiting team members dress modestly and in such a way that does not draw attention to themselves. Shorts should be knee-length, no spaghetti strapped, midriff, low cut, or sleeveless tops. Skirts should cover the knee at all times, and all tops must cover shoulders.
Money Deadlines:
- $200 deposit is due with application (app deadline is August 15th)
- 50% of cost is due November 1st ($250 total)
-100% of cost is due November 22nd ($500 total)
Requirements
This trip is open to all campuses, ages 18 and up.
