As a high school senior, Jimmy Bowers knew the Lord was calling him to ministry. After attending Lee University with a major in youth ministry, he married his wife Kristen, which he describes as the “best decision I ever made.”
Though Jimmy came on staff at Church of the Highlands two years later as the worship pastor for the Tuscaloosa campus, he felt a calling to the city three years before over Mother’s Day weekend. Through prayer and guidance, he took the step of faith to move to Birmingham and to Highlands to get involved with what God was doing there. Now Tuscaloosa campus pastor for Church of the Highlands, he believes that Tuscaloosa is not only the greatest place on the planet, it is also home to many of our future’s greatest leaders.
