Joe Champion is the senior pastor and co-founder, with his wife, Lori, of Celebration Church in Texas, serving the Austin area. While a football player at Louisiana State University, he considered following in his father’s footsteps with a career in the National Football League, but entered full-time ministry in 1989 after a life-transforming experience with Christ.
The Champions answered the call to plant a church in the greater Austin area and founded Celebration Church in October of 2000 as a non-denominational church with a vision to reach the city of Austin and the globe for Christ. Joe is a globally recognized leader and speaker, and passionate about helping people connect with their destinies through the balanced, life-giving ministry of the local church. Since its founding, Celebration Church has grown from the Champion family of five to ministering to over 5,000 people per week.
