Layne Schranz
Profile
Pastor Layne Schranz has been on staff as an associate pastor at Church of the Highlands since May 2001. His family moved to Birmingham from Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he spent several years working as the president of one of the nation’s most successful towing companies and volunteering as a youth pastor at New Life Church.
Once Layne arrived at Highlands, he pioneered Highland’s Student Ministries program as well as the Highlands Leadership Institute. He also served as Highland’s first video campus pastor, which paved the way for our church’s multi-site approach. Layne currently oversees Highlands Student Ministries, Nursery, Pre-school, and Children’s ministries, Leadership Institute, and off-site campuses. He and his wife, Rachel, have been married since 1996 and have two daughters, Ashlyn and Devyn.
