About This Project

Trip Focus: Working with a Local Church, Community Outreach

New Orleans is known for its good food, jazz music and a huge celebration of Mardi Gras. Despite the livliness of this city's culture, people are in dire need of hope and true life given by Jesus alone. Sin, poverty, and hopelessness enslave much of the population, but the hope of Jesus is shining in the darkness through the church!

During your time in New Orleans, you will be partnering with One Hope Church led by Pastor Josh Canizaro. Pastor Josh served as the Greystone campus pastor at Church of the Highlands. During his time at Highlands, he felt the Lord leading him to move to New Orleans and start an ARC church in his hometown together with his wife and two children. Team members will be serving One Hope and participating in outreaches around New Orleans.

At One Hope, team members may serve on the dream team during a Sunday service, help the church host events, and set up the facility for Sunday services. Team members may also participate in a variety of community outreach activities, including evangelism, prayer walks, thrift store work, trash pickup, door to door prayer, block parties, home restoration, homeless outreach, and other ministry opportunities.

We welcome you to pray and ask the Lord if He wants you to be a part of this life-changing experience!

*Payment deadlines must be met in order to participate in this trip. Church of the Highlands uses each payment to purchase necessary trip expenses shortly following the posted deadlines. Therefore, payments are non-refundable, and failure to meet these deadlines will result in the removal of a team member and/or the cancellation of the trip.

*Dates and costs are approximate.
