The New York City Urban Missions Project partners teams with inner city ministries dedicated to bringing hope and life in the name of Jesus to the many suffering populations found in the five boroughs of New York.
The team will work in rescue missions, homeless shelters, soup kitchens and relief centers as well as participate in outreaches with local churches in their communities.
Every country in the world has a community or neighborhood in New York. Exposure to other cultures is a key element of this trip. Sharing in worship with these churches is a highlight of the week.
The team will also have free time and opportunities to see many of the city landmarks including a Broadway show or attraction.
Where will we stay? Teams stay at the New York School of Urban Ministry (NYSUM), one of our ministry partners in the city. NYSUM provides dorm style accommodations, a cafeteria, student lounges, meeting rooms and wifi.
What will we eat? Most meals will be provided at NYSUM but the team will get to experience famous NY pizza, delis and cheesecake.
How will we get there? The team will fly to NYC. In the city you will travel via subway in Queens, Manhattan and the Bronx.
